You Have Inherited the System
A previous supplier, developer or internal team built it and you now need an independent view before approving more work.
Diagnose
If something works but you are not confident in how secure, maintainable or production-ready it really is, a technical audit gives you a sensible place to start.
Structurell looks beyond a simple automated scan. We review the code, live system and operating environment where access is available, investigate the issues that matter and give you a prioritised view of what is worth doing next.
A useful starting point
You do not need to diagnose the problem before asking for an audit.
A previous supplier, developer or internal team built it and you now need an independent view before approving more work.
The application appears functional, but nobody experienced has properly reviewed the security, architecture, hosting or production setup.
Small changes take too long, regressions are appearing or the team is becoming nervous about touching parts of the system.
Before approving another rebuild, migration or development budget, you want to know what is actually wrong and what is still worth keeping.
What we review
The exact scope depends on what you have and what access is available, but a typical audit can cover the following areas.
Authentication, permissions, data access, secrets, dependencies and framework or language-specific risks.
Structure, complexity, duplication, technical debt and anything likely to make future changes unnecessarily difficult or expensive.
How the application has been organised, how responsibilities are separated and whether the current approach remains sensible.
Error handling, validation, failure scenarios, logging, recovery and areas where problems may be difficult to diagnose.
Obvious bottlenecks, inefficient processing, database usage and areas likely to struggle as traffic or usage grows.
How data is stored, accessed and exchanged with external systems, including integrity and security concerns.
How safely changes can currently be made, tested, reviewed and released.
Deployment, configuration, monitoring, backups and other gaps between something that works and something you can confidently rely on.
Where access is available, review of hosting configuration, permissions, databases, SSL/TLS, environment settings, exposed services, logging and monitoring.
How the audit works
Automated and AI-assisted analysis helps identify where to look. It does not decide what goes into the final report.
Framework, language and system-specific checks help surface potential points of interest across the repository and environment.
We work through the areas that matter, check the evidence and remove noise rather than treating every automated warning as a finding.
Material findings are given a clear traffic-light priority, explanation and recommended action.
You get a practical roadmap showing what to address now, what can wait and what we would leave alone.
The output
The aim is not to produce a huge technical document where every item looks equally urgent.
The issue and the evidence behind it.
The practical technical or business consequence rather than a generic warning.
A simple traffic-light view showing what we would focus on first.
What we think should be done, including where the sensible recommendation is to leave something alone.
A rough indication of the work involved so you can make a sensible investment decision.
Handle it internally, ask Structurell to take it on or use a hybrid approach where your team implements and we provide guidance or review.
Independent recommendations
An audit should help you make a better decision, not lock you into another development contract.
Work through the recommendations yourself, give them to your existing team or supplier, ask Structurell to implement individual items or mix the approaches depending on what makes sense.
After the audit
The initial audit establishes where the system stands today. From there, findings can become remediation work, improvements for your own team or the baseline for ongoing technical assurance.
Structurell can take on security, performance, architecture, integration or maintainability work where senior engineering is useful.
Use the findings to improve development standards, AI workflows, testing, release practices and technical documentation.
Recurring review can focus on what changed since the baseline rather than repeating the original audit from scratch.
Start with the system you have
Tell us what the website or application does, what you are concerned about and what access is available. We can work out the right scope from there.
